A Brief History

Broadcast Media was founded in 1990 as a small "one man band" production company servicing the local news and current affairs industry in New Zealand. The company grew steadily throughout the 90's taking on more news contracts in New Zealand and internationally and more staff/Freelancers to service those contracts. By 1997 the original company DVP changed it's name to DVP Film and Television Ltd. The company also acquired more equipment. Finally in early 2006 another name change to Broadcast Media Limited making it very easy now to tell everyone our email address! (Was that DVC, DCP, DTV?) Its incredible how many letters in our alphabet sound the same on the telephone!

Through strategic equipment and facility acquisition, Broadcast Media broadened its vision to include a wider range of services to companies around the globe producing programming for many broadcasters.

Today we continue on the cutting edge of video production technology. From digital acquisition to DVD authoring and replication, Non linear AVID editing to motion graphics, we are meeting the needs of clients from across town, and across the world. Clients who have extremely high standards such as Discovery Channel, Travel Channel, Canwest, National Geographic, CNN, APTN, ABC, NBC and many more.

We also offer Media Training to Corporate Clients. What better way to learn how to respond to the hard questions by the media than by a Media Company who work in the industry daily.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality product that satisfies the client’s needs and desires. We offer a swift response service to meet broadcaster's needs and a thorough professional service guiding our corporate clients. Making them stand out from their competitors.

We can operate 4 crews filming and two editing crews simultaneously. We have access to all possible production equipment from Full Outside Broadcast Trucks, Jib Arms, Generator plants, and SNG uplinks. We also have access 24/7 to Fibre and Microwave link systems worldwide.
